Digital inheritance: beyond memories.

Our lives are a big book of stories, experiences and memories. You probably have some pages full of unforgettable moments, others filled with memories that you would simply love to share, and perhaps some with a more private context that you haven't been able to share yet.

Imagine being able to save and share this book with whomever you want, whenever you want. A digital chest is more than a collection of documents. It is a final farewell embrace, with which you can pass on your legacy to those you love the most.

A journey through your life

Every photograph, every video, every message is a piece of you. Being able to express ourselves and communicate our feelings is key to building interpersonal bonds, even beyond our departure.

Here we will give you some recommendations of what files may be important to save:

  • Photos and videos: probably, the first thing that may come to mind, are files of important moments. While you can save photos of birthdays, marriages or parties, there is much more you can share. Save a photo of your favorite family trip; a video of a family weekend; a video recounting a particular memory; a photo without much context but one you've always loved. Let your heart be your guide.
  • Messages: Letters, a message you would like to convey, your favorite phrases, your philosophy of life or your lessons and reflections; they are all equally valuable. Write them, express yourself and share them.
  • Bank access: this issue is not always considered, however it can be very important if we take into account the amount of paperwork needed to access them, even if the deceased wanted to grant access. You can include bank accounts and passwords, your securities account access data (buying and selling shares) and even data to your virtual cryptocurrency wallet, if you have one.
  • Other documents: life insurance and policies, or documents related to property and mortgages.
  • Your last wishes: instructions for planning your funeral, a wish to be cremated or how you would like to be memorialized on the day of your ceremony.

An act of unconditional love

Remember to be honest and transparent, as this will be “the last page of your book”, a testament to how much you love those around you, and even hold them emotionally, from the afterlife.

Do not see it as a chore, but as a last hug.
